The lemon tree prefers a warm, sunny and sheltered location with plenty of light and good air circulation. It requires regular watering, with the soil consistently moist but very well-drained.
Ideally, the soil should be loose, rich in humus and nutrients, with a slightly acidic pH of about 5.5 to 6.5. Waterlogging must be avoided, as the roots are very sensitive to it.
Under optimal conditions, it begins to bear fruit after about 3 to 5 years, producing juicy, aromatic fruits. The plant usually reaches a height of about 2 to 5 meters and grows as an evergreen, often slightly thorny tree or shrub.
