Zamia

The Zamia prefers a semi-shady to sunny, warm, and sheltered location. It is very heat-tolerant, but only slightly frost-tolerant.

The soil should be very loose, sandy to mineral, and well-draining. A slightly acidic to neutral pH (approx. 5.5–6.5) is ideal. The plant requires little water; waterlogging should be strictly avoided.

The plant grows very slowly and forms a short, palm-like trunk with a dense crown of stiff, pinnate leaves. It typically reaches 1 to 2 meters in height.
It is primarily valued for its exotic, prehistoric appearance and high robustness.
