Cedar

The Cedro prefers a sunny to semi-shady location in tropical to subtropical climates. It requires regular watering during the establishment phase, but can tolerate short dry periods later.

An ideal soil is deep, humus-rich, and well-drained with a slightly acidic to neutral pH of about 5.5 to 7.0. It grows particularly fast and vigorously on fertile soils.

The species is primarily cultivated as a valuable timber tree and does not produce commercially used fruits. The tree usually reaches a height of about 20 to 35 meters and develops a broad, imposing crown.
