Weeping willow

The weeping willow prefers a sunny location but can also tolerate light partial shade. It is very frost-hardy and grows particularly well in temperate to subtropical climates.

The soil should be humus-rich, deep, and consistently moist to fresh. A neutral to slightly acidic pH value (approx. 5.5–7.0) is ideal. The plant loves plenty of water and is well-suited for riparian areas; waterlogging is generally well tolerated.

The plant grows as a fast-growing deciduous tree and usually reaches 10 to 20 meters in height. It is particularly valued for its long, drooping branches and its elegant, decorative growth habit.
