Gooseberry bush

The gooseberry tree prefers a sunny to semi-shady, warm, and sheltered location in a tropical to subtropical climate. It is sensitive to frost and grows best with consistent warmth.

The soil should be humus-rich, loose, and well-draining. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value between approximately 5.5 and 6.5 is ideal; regular moisture is preferred, and waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as a small to medium-sized tree, typically reaching 3 to 10 meters in height. It usually bears its first fruits after about 2 to 4 years under good conditions.
