Hog plum

The Siriguela prefers a sunny, warm, and rather dry to seasonally humid location in a tropical to subtropical climate. It is drought-tolerant but sensitive to frost.

The soil should be sandy to loamy, well-drained, and rather poor to moderately rich in nutrients. A neutral to slightly alkaline pH value between approximately 6.0 and 7.5 is ideal; waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as a small tree or large shrub and usually reaches a height of 3 to 8 meters. It typically bears its first fruits after about 2 to 4 years under good conditions.
