Seaforthia Nightshade

The Seaforthia nightshade prefers a sunny to partially shaded, warm and sheltered location in a tropical to subtropical climate. It is sensitive to frost and grows very quickly in high heat.

The soil should be loose, humus-rich and well-drained. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value between about 5.5 and 6.5 is ideal, regular moisture is preferred, waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as a strong climbing vine and can form shoots several meters long. It produces small poisonous berries and is primarily valued for its light violet to blue, star-shaped flowers.
