The 'Tahiti' lime prefers a warm, sunny, and wind-protected location in a subtropical to tropical climate. It requires regular watering, with the soil needing to be consistently moist but well-drained.
An ideal soil is humus-rich, loose, and very well-drained with a slightly acidic pH of about 5.5 to 6.5. Waterlogging should be strictly avoided as it can quickly lead to root damage.
Under optimal conditions, it begins to bear fruit after about 2 to 4 years, yielding juicy, mostly seedless limes. The plant typically reaches a height of about 3 to 6 meters and grows as a robust, evergreen citrus tree.
