Abutilon

The flowering maple prefers a sunny to semi-shady, warm, and sheltered location. It is only moderately frost-hardy and is often grown as a potted plant in cooler regions.

The soil should be loose, humus-rich, and well-draining. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value between approximately 5.5 and 7.0 is ideal; consistent moisture is preferred, and waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as a shrub and usually reaches a height of 1.5 to 3 meters. It is particularly valued for its bell-shaped, often orange to red flowers.
