Garlic chives

Garlic chives prefer a sunny to semi-shady, warm location. They are very robust and well frost-hardy.

The soil should be loose, humus-rich, and well-drained. A neutral to slightly alkaline pH value (approx. 6.0–7.5) is ideal. The plant requires regular moisture; waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as a perennial and usually reaches a height of 30 to 60 cm. It is primarily valued as a culinary and spice herb for its mild, garlic-like taste.
