Ornamental banana

The ornamental banana prefers a warm, sunny to semi-shady and wind-protected location. It requires high humidity and should be watered regularly, keeping the soil consistently slightly moist.

Ideally, the soil should be humus-rich, well-draining, and slightly acidic, with a pH value of about 5.5 to 6.5. Under good conditions, it can flower within about 1 to 2 years and produce small, usually inedible fruits. The plant reaches a height of about 1.5 to 3 meters and forms a slender, decorative pseudostem structure.

In tropical to subtropical climates, it grows quickly and develops large, attractive leaves and striking inflorescences.
