Schefflera / Umbrella Tree

The Schefflera / umbrella tree prefers a bright to semi-shady, warm, and sheltered location. It is sensitive to frost and is usually cultivated as a houseplant or container plant in temperate regions.

The soil should be loose, humus-rich, and well-drained. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value between approximately 5.5 and 6.5 is ideal; consistent but moderate moisture is preferred, and waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as an evergreen shrub or small tree and usually reaches 1 to 3 meters in height (significantly larger outdoors in the tropics). It is particularly valued for its decorative, palmately divided foliage.
