Red Latan Palm

The red Latan palm prefers a full sun, warm, and sheltered location. It is heat-tolerant but only slightly frost-tolerant and grows best in tropical to subtropical climates.

The soil should be loose, sandy to loamy, and very well-drained. A slightly acidic to neutral pH (approx. 5.5–6.5) is ideal. The plant is relatively drought-tolerant; waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as a slow-growing fan palm and usually reaches 5 to 12 meters in height. It is particularly valued for its reddish leaf stalks and decorative fan-shaped leaves.
