Rosemary

Rosemary prefers a full-sun, warm, and dry location. It is very heat and drought tolerant and quite frost hardy, especially in sheltered spots.

The soil should be very well-drained, sandy to stony, and rather poor in nutrients. A neutral to slightly alkaline pH value (approx. 6.0–7.5) is ideal. Waterlogging should definitely be avoided.

The plant grows as an evergreen subshrub and usually reaches 30 to 150 cm in height.
It is valued primarily for its intense aroma and its use as a culinary and medicinal herb.
