Giant Pelican Flower

The giant pelican flower prefers a warm and very sheltered location in tropical to subtropical climates, with full sun to partial shade. It is sensitive to frost and requires consistently high temperatures and good humidity.

The soil should be humus-rich, loose, and well-draining. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value between approximately 5.5 and 6.5 is ideal. Consistent moisture is preferred, but waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as a very vigorous climbing vine and can quickly form shoots several meters long. It is primarily valued for its very large, striking, pelican-shaped flowers.
