Rambutan

The rambutan prefers a sunny to semi-shady, warm, and very humid location in a tropical climate. It is extremely sensitive to frost and requires consistent warmth without cold snaps.

The soil should be deep, humus-rich, and very well-drained. A slightly acidic pH value between approximately 5.0 and 6.5 is ideal; regular high humidity is important, but waterlogging should still be avoided.

The plant grows as an evergreen tree and usually reaches 10 to 20 meters in height. It typically bears its first fruits after about 5 to 8 years under good conditions.
