Petrea

Petrea prefers a full-sun to partial-shade, warm, and very sheltered location in a tropical to subtropical climate. It is sensitive to frost and grows best with high humidity and stable warmth.

The soil should be humus-rich, loose, and well-draining. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value between approximately 5.5 and 6.5 is ideal; regular moisture is preferred, but waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as a vigorously climbing vine and can reach several meters in height. It is particularly valued for its long, hanging flower clusters in shades of violet to blue.
