Orchid tree

The orchid tree prefers a full sun, warm, and sheltered location. It is heat-loving and, depending on the species, only slightly to moderately frost-tolerant.

The soil should be loose, humus-rich, and well-draining. A slightly acidic to neutral pH (approx. 5.5–7.0) is ideal. Waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as a shrub or small tree and usually reaches 3 to 8 meters in height.
It is primarily valued for its large, orchid-like flowers in pink, purple, or white.
