Olive

The olive tree prefers a full-sun, warm, and rather dry location in a Mediterranean to subtropical climate. It is relatively drought and heat tolerant but sensitive to prolonged severe frost.

The soil should be loose, stony-sandy to loamy, and very well-drained. A neutral to slightly alkaline pH value between approximately 6.5 and 8.0 is ideal; waterlogging is not tolerated.

The plant grows as an evergreen tree or shrub and usually reaches 3 to 10 meters in height. It typically bears its first fruits after about 3 to 6 years under good conditions.
