Oleander

The oleander prefers a full sun, warm, and very sheltered location. It is heat- and drought-tolerant, but only moderately frost-hardy (short-term down to light freezing temperatures for older plants).

The soil should be loose, sandy to loamy, and well-drained. A neutral to slightly alkaline pH value between approximately 6.0 and 7.5 is ideal; waterlogging should be avoided at all costs.

The plant grows as an evergreen shrub or small tree and usually reaches 2 to 5 meters in height. All parts of the plant are highly poisonous. It is primarily valued for its long, striking flowering period.
