Allspice

Allspice prefers a sunny to semi-shady, warm, and sheltered location. It is sensitive to frost and grows best in tropical to subtropical climates.

The soil should be loose, humus-rich, and well-draining. A slightly acidic to neutral pH (approx. 5.5–6.5) is ideal. The plant requires regular moisture; waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as an evergreen tree and usually reaches a height of 6 to 15 meters.
It is primarily valued for its aromatic fruits, known as pimento (allspice).
