Nectarine
(Prunus persica var. nucipersica)
Nectarines prefer a warm, sunny, and sheltered location. They should be watered regularly, especially during dry spells, while waterlogging must be avoided at all costs.
The soil should be loose, well-draining, and nutrient-rich, ideally with a slightly acidic to neutral pH value of about 6.0 to 7.0. Nectarines usually begin to bear fruit after 2 to 4 years, depending on the variety and location conditions.
The tree typically reaches a height of about 2.5 to 5 meters, depending on pruning and rootstock. With optimal care, it remains compact and regularly produces an abundance of aromatic fruits.
