Mussaenda

Mussaenda prefers a sunny to semi-shady, warm, and very sheltered location in a tropical to subtropical climate. It is sensitive to frost and requires high humidity for optimal growth.

The soil should be humus-rich, loose, and well-drained. A slightly acidic pH value between approximately 5.0 and 6.5 is ideal; regular moisture is preferred, but waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as a shrub and usually reaches 1.5 to 3 meters in height (taller depending on the species). It is primarily valued for its striking, often white or pink enlarged bracts.
