Marmalade Bush
(Streptosolen jamesonii)
The Marmalade Bush prefers a warm and sheltered location in subtropical to tropical climates, ranging from full sun to partial shade. It is sensitive to frost and usually grows as a potted plant in cooler regions.
The soil should be loose, humus-rich, and well-draining. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value between approximately 5.5 and 6.5 is ideal; regular moisture is preferred, but waterlogging should be avoided.
The plant grows as an overhanging shrub and typically reaches 1 to 2.5 meters in height. It does not produce edible fruits and is primarily valued for its intensely orange, often "jam-like" glowing flowers.
