Manacá da Serra / Glory Bush
(Tibouchina mutabilis)
The Manacá prefers a sunny to semi-shady, warm, and sheltered location. It is frost-sensitive and thrives best in tropical to subtropical climates.
The soil should be humus-rich, loose, and well-drained. A slightly acidic pH (approx. 5.5–6.5) is ideal. Consistent moisture is preferred; avoid waterlogging.
The plant grows as a shrub or small tree and usually reaches 3 to 10 meters in height. It is particularly valued for its color-changing blossoms (white, pink, violet).
