Magnolia

The magnolia prefers a sunny to partially shaded, sheltered location. Depending on the species, it is frost-hardy to moderately frost-sensitive and grows best in warm, humid regions.

The soil should be humus-rich, loose, and well-drained. A slightly acidic pH (approx. 5.5–6.5) is ideal. Consistent moisture is preferred, but waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as a large shrub or tree and usually reaches a height of 3 to 20 meters, depending on the species. It is primarily valued for its large, fragrant, and very decorative flowers.
