Purple Guava
(Psidium guajava Purple Guava)
The Purple Guava prefers a sunny, warm, and sheltered location in a tropical to subtropical climate. It is sensitive to frost and grows best with consistent warmth.
The soil should be loose, rich in humus, and well-drained. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value between approximately 5.0 and 7.0 is ideal. Regular moisture is preferred, but waterlogging should be avoided.
The plant grows as a shrub or small tree, usually reaching a height of 2 to 6 meters. It typically bears its first fruits after about 2 to 4 years under good conditions.
