Lavender Alucema
(Lavandula angustifolia)
The lavender Alucema prefers a full sun, warm, and dry location. It is very heat and drought tolerant and also quite hardy.
The soil should be very well-drained, sandy to stony, and rather poor in nutrients. A neutral to slightly alkaline pH value (approx. 6.0–7.5) is ideal. Waterlogging should be avoided at all costs.
The plant grows as a compact subshrub and usually reaches 30 to 80 cm in height.
It is valued primarily for its intense fragrance and its versatile use as an ornamental, fragrant, and medicinal plant.
