Colombian Plantain

The Colombiana plantain prefers a sunny to semi-shady, warm, and wind-protected location in a tropical to subtropical climate. It is sensitive to frost and requires consistently high temperatures.

The soil should be rich in humus, nutrient-dense, and well-drained. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value between approximately 5.5 and 7.0 is ideal; regular watering is important, and waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows quickly, usually reaching 3 to 6 meters in height. The first harvest (banana bunches) typically occurs after about 9 to 18 months under good conditions.
