Cherry

Cherries prefer a sunny location in a temperate climate. They are winter-hardy and require a certain winter chill for good flower development.

The soil should be deep, humus-rich, and well-drained. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value between approximately 6.0 and 7.5 is ideal; waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as a tree and usually reaches 3 to 10 meters in height. It typically bears its first fruit after about 3 to 5 years under good conditions.
