Cape leadwort

Cape plumbago prefers a sunny to semi-shady, warm and sheltered location in subtropical to tropical climates. It is sensitive to frost and usually grows as a container plant in cooler regions.

The soil should be loose, humus-rich and well-drained. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value between approximately 5.5 and 7.0 is ideal; regular moisture is preferred, but waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as a climbing or trailing shrub and usually reaches 1 to 3 meters in height (with a climbing aid, it can spread wider). It is particularly valued for its sky-blue flowers.
