Kalanchoe

The Kalanchoe prefers a bright to sunny, warm, and dry location. It is sensitive to frost and is very well suited as a houseplant or container plant.

The soil should be very well-draining, sandy to mineral. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value between approximately 6.0 and 7.0 is ideal. It stores water in its leaves and therefore requires little watering; waterlogging should be avoided at all costs.

The plant grows as a compact, succulent perennial and usually reaches a height of 15 to 40 cm. It is particularly valued for its long flowering period with small, bright flowers in many colors.

All parts of the plant are poisonous to humans and pets if ingested.
