Persimmon

The persimmon prefers a sunny, warm, and sheltered location in a temperate to subtropical climate. It is relatively frost-tolerant, especially mature trees, but young plants should be protected.

The soil should be loose, deep, and well-drained. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value between approximately 5.5 and 7.0 is ideal; waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as a tree and usually reaches a height of 3 to 10 meters. It typically bears its first fruit after about 3 to 5 years under good conditions.
