Jujube
(Ziziphus mauritiana)
The jujube prefers a full sun, warm, and rather dry location. It is very heat and drought tolerant and relatively frost-hardy, especially when fully grown.
The soil should be loose, sandy to loamy, and well-drained. A neutral to slightly alkaline pH value between approximately 6.0 and 8.0 is ideal; waterlogging should absolutely be avoided.
The plant grows as a small to medium-sized tree and usually reaches 3 to 10 meters in height. It typically bears its first fruits after about 2 to 4 years under good conditions.
