Java apple

The Java apple prefers a sunny to semi-shady, warm, and very sheltered location in a tropical to subtropical climate. It is sensitive to frost and requires consistently high temperatures and high humidity.

The soil should be humus-rich, deep, and well-drained. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value between approximately 5.5 and 6.5 is ideal, regular watering is preferred, and waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as a tree and usually reaches 5 to 15 meters in height. It typically bears its first fruits after about 3 to 5 years under good conditions.
