Jaguarete ka’a
(Baccharis trimera)
The Jaguarete ka'a prefers a full-sun, warm, and rather dry location. It is very robust, heat-tolerant, and drought-resistant.
The soil should be loose, sandy to stony, and very well-draining. A neutral to slightly alkaline pH value (approx. 6.0–7.5) is ideal. Waterlogging should definitely be avoided.
The plant grows as a bushy subshrub and usually reaches 30 to 100 cm in height.
It is valued primarily for its traditional use as a medicinal plant in South American natural medicine.
