Paradise

The Paraíso prefers a sunny, warm, and sheltered location. It is very heat-tolerant and relatively drought-tolerant, but only moderately frost-hardy.

The soil should be loose, deep, and well-draining. A neutral to slightly alkaline pH value between approximately 6.0 and 7.5 is ideal. The plant tolerates nutrient-poor soils well, but waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as a fast-growing, deciduous tree and usually reaches 8 to 15 meters in height, and even more under good conditions.

It is primarily valued for its light purple flower panicles and decorative, yellow fruits, but all parts of the plant are poisonous.
