Indian Rose Apple
(Dillenia indica)
The Indian Rose Apple prefers a sunny to partially shaded, warm and sheltered location in a tropical to subtropical climate. It is sensitive to frost and requires consistent warmth.
The soil should be humous, loose, and well-drained. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value between approximately 5.5 and 6.5 is ideal; regular moisture is preferred, but waterlogging should be avoided.
The plant grows as a small to medium-sized tree, usually reaching 3 to 10 meters in height. It typically bears its first fruits after about 3 to 5 years under good conditions.
