Rose of Sharon

The Hibiscus syriacus prefers a sunny to semi-shady, warm, and sheltered location. It is very frost-hardy and suitable for temperate to subtropical climates.

The soil should be humus-rich, loose, and well-drained. A slightly acidic to slightly alkaline pH value between approximately 6.0 and 7.5 is ideal; consistent moisture is preferred, and waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as a shrub or small tree, usually reaching 2 to 4 meters in height. It is primarily valued for its large, decorative flowers.
