Heliconia angusta

The heliconia prefers a semi-shady, warm, and very sheltered location in a tropical climate. It is sensitive to frost and requires high humidity for optimal growth.

The soil should be humus-rich, loose, and very well-drained. A slightly acidic pH value between approximately 5.5 and 6.5 is ideal; consistent moisture is needed, and waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows herbaceous and usually reaches a height of 1 to 2 meters. It is primarily known for its striking, decorative inflorescences.
