Guavirá
(Campomanesia xanthocarpa)
The Guavirá prefers a sunny to semi-shady, warm and sheltered location in a subtropical to tropical climate. It is moderately frost-tolerant and also grows in slightly cooler regions.
The soil should be humic, loose, and well-drained. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value between approximately 5.5 and 6.5 is ideal; consistent moisture is preferred, and waterlogging should be avoided.
The plant grows as a shrub or small tree and usually reaches 3 to 10 meters in height. It typically bears its first fruits after about 3 to 6 years under good conditions.
