Gold candle
(Pachystachys lutea)
The Gold Candle prefers a semi-shady to sunny, warm and very sheltered location in a tropical to subtropical climate. It is sensitive to frost and is well suited as a houseplant or container plant.
The soil should be humous, loose and well-drained. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value between approximately 5.5 and 6.5 is ideal; consistent moisture is preferred, and waterlogging should be avoided.
The plant grows as a shrub and usually reaches a height of 0.5 to 1.5 meters. It is mainly valued for its striking yellow inflorescences.
