Ginkgo

The ginkgo prefers a sunny to semi-shady location and is considered extremely adaptable and robust. After it has rooted, it only needs moderate watering and tolerates short dry periods well.

An ideal soil is loose, deep, and well-drained with a slightly acidic to neutral pH value of about 5.0 to 7.0. However, the ginkgo also copes well with less than ideal soil conditions.

Female trees usually only bear their first fruit after about 20 to 30 years, while male trees do not bear fruit. The tree typically reaches a height of about 15 to 30 meters and can live for several hundred years.
