Frangipani

The frangipani prefers a sunny, warm and sheltered location. It is heat and drought tolerant, but sensitive to frost and requires a lot of sun for abundant flowering.

The soil should be loose, sandy to humus-rich, and very well-draining. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value between approximately 5.5 and 7.0 is ideal. The plant only requires moderate watering and tolerates short dry spells well; waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as a small tree or large shrub and usually reaches a height of 3 to 8 meters. It is mainly valued for its highly fragrant, waxy flowers in many colors and its tropical appearance.
