Fishtail Palm

The fishtail palm prefers a semi-shady to sunny, warm, and sheltered location. It is sensitive to frost and grows best in tropical to subtropical climates with high humidity.

The soil should be loose, humus-rich, and well-draining. A slightly acidic pH (approx. 5.5–6.5) is ideal. Consistent moisture is preferred; waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as a multi-stemmed palm and usually reaches 3 to 10 meters in height.
It is especially valued for its unusual, fishtail-shaped leaf segments.
