Weeping fig

The Ficus benjamina prefers a bright to semi-shady, warm and very sheltered location without drafts. It is sensitive to frost and is usually cultivated as a houseplant or container plant.

The soil should be loose, humus-rich, and well-draining. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value between approximately 5.5 and 6.5 is ideal. Consistent, moderate moisture is preferred, and waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as an evergreen tree or shrub and can reach a height of 10 to 30 meters in tropical climates, but remains significantly smaller when cultivated.

It is valued as an ornamental plant primarily for its dense, elegant crown and delicate, drooping branches.
