Torch Bush

The Torch Ginger prefers a semi-shady to sunny, warm, and very sheltered location in a tropical to subtropical climate. It is sensitive to frost and requires high humidity.

The soil should be humous, loose, and well-drained. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value between approximately 5.5 and 6.5 is ideal; consistent moisture is preferred, but waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as a shrub and usually reaches 2 to 4 meters in height. It is primarily valued as an ornamental plant for its striking red inflorescences.
