Strawberry guava
(Psidium cattleianum)
The strawberry guava prefers a sunny to semi-shady, warm and sheltered location in a tropical to subtropical climate. It is moderately frost-tolerant and also grows well in mild regions.
The soil should be humous, loose and well-draining. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value between approximately 5.5 and 6.5 is ideal, consistent moisture is preferred, and waterlogging should be avoided.
The plant grows as a shrub or small tree and usually reaches 2 to 6 meters in height. It typically bears its first fruits after about 2 to 4 years under good conditions.
