Strawberry

Strawberries prefer a sunny to semi-shady location in a temperate climate. They are relatively frost-hardy and thrive well even in cooler regions.

The soil should be rich in humus, loose, and well-draining. A slightly acidic to neutral pH value between approximately 5.5 and 6.5 is ideal, consistent moisture is required, and waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows low as an herbaceous perennial and reaches about 10 to 30 cm in height. It usually bears its first fruits in the first to second year after planting.
