Spathiphyllum

The peace lily prefers a semi-shady to shady, warm and sheltered location. It is sensitive to frost and is excellent as a houseplant or for shady areas in tropical climates.

The soil should be humus-rich, loose and well-drained. A slightly acidic pH value between approximately 5.5 and 6.5 is ideal. Consistent moisture is preferred; the soil should never completely dry out, but waterlogging should be avoided.

The plant grows as a clump-forming, evergreen perennial and usually reaches a height of 30 cm to 1.5 meters, depending on the species and variety. It is primarily valued for its elegant white inflorescences and glossy green leaves.

All parts of the plant are mildly toxic if ingested and can cause irritation in humans and pets.
